Privacy policy

Who we are
Pickle Shot is operated by Spruik Co Pty Ltd ("we", "us"), which runs pickleshot.golf and is building the Pickle Shot golf improvement app. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Questions? Email hello@pickleshot.golf.
What we collect
- What you give us: your email, first name, password (stored only as a salted scrypt hash, never in plain text), launch monitor, current and goal handicap, and how you heard about us.
- If you use Google sign-in: your Google account email, name and a Google account identifier. We never see your Google password.
- Technical stuff: a session cookie that keeps you logged in, and short-lived records of IP addresses used to stop brute-force and spam attempts.
- Analytics: if enabled, Google Analytics 4 and PostHog record how the site is used (pages viewed, buttons clicked, whether the video was played). We do not send your password or handicap to analytics tools. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we do not load analytics at all.
Why we use it
- To run your account and your place on the waitlist.
- To email you about your account (welcome, password resets) and about early access. Every non-essential email has an unsubscribe option.
- To decide what to build first, for example which launch monitors our waitlist owns.
- To keep the site secure.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We use a few service providers to run the site: Netlify (hosting and data storage), Send16 (email delivery), Google (sign-in and analytics) and PostHog (analytics). Some of these providers may store data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. We only share what each provider needs to do its job.
How long we keep it
We keep your account for as long as you have one. Password reset links expire after 60 minutes. Rate-limit records expire within a day. When you delete your account, we delete your account record and waitlist entry.
Your choices
- See and update your details on your account page.
- Delete your account yourself from the account page, or email us and we will do it.
- Ask us for a copy of what we hold, or to correct it, by emailing hello@pickleshot.golf.
- If you are unhappy with how we handled your information, tell us first. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you logged in (ps_session) and a small companion cookie (ps_in) that simply tells the page to show "My account" instead of "Log in". Analytics tools, when enabled, set their own cookies. You can block cookies in your browser, but you will not be able to stay logged in.
