The best launch monitor under $1000 in Australia, for most golfers who want to improve, is the Rapsodo MLM2 Pro at A$899 (Rapsodo's Australian store, 27 September 2026). The Garmin Approach R10 is the strongest alternative, with a cheaper yearly subscription, and the Voice Caddie SC4 Pro and the original Rapsodo MLM round out the budget options.

Launch monitors under A$1,000: the shortlist

Drummond Golf (A$899.95, sold out online) and House of Golf (A$899.95, on order) also listed the MLM2 Pro.

1. Rapsodo MLM2 Pro: best overall under $1000

Price: A$899 at Rapsodo AU and around A$900 at major golf retailers.

Why it is our pick:

• Two cameras plus radar. It measures ball speed, club speed, launch angle, launch direction, angle of attack, club path, spin rate and spin axis, according to Rapsodo.
• Measured spin with Titleist or Callaway RPT balls, which is rare at this price.
• Built-in video. Impact Vision (240 fps impact video) and Shot Vision (down-the-line video with a shot tracer). See does the MLM2 Pro have a shot tracer?.
• Accuracy. Plugged In Golf's 2024 test against a Foresight GCQuad found ball speed within 1 mph and carry within about 3 yards. See is the MLM2 Pro accurate?.
• Simulator options. More than 30,000 courses with Premium, plus GSPro, E6 and Awesome Golf.

Trade-offs: Premium (A$299.99 a year) is needed for spin, courses and third-party apps. It needs good light, and the battery is 2 to 4 hours per Rapsodo's manual. Full details in our subscription guide.

Best for: golfers who want to genuinely improve, indoors or out.

2. Garmin Approach R10: best for a cheaper subscription

Price: A$749 on sale at GolfBox (out of stock) to A$998.95 at Drummond Golf (sold out online).

Strengths: Garmin quotes up to 10 hours of battery, it is rated IPX7, and the Garmin Golf membership is A$144.99 a year in the Australian App Store, roughly half the MLM2 Pro's Premium. Garmin's standalone Home Tee Hero app (January 2026) offers more than 43,000 courses.

Trade-offs: it is radar only, and spin is generally calculated rather than measured, especially indoors. No built-in impact video.

3. Voice Caddie SC4 Pro and SC4: worth a look on sale

Price: SC4 Pro bundle with alignment stand A$849 at GolfBox (in stock). SC4 A$699.99 at GolfBox (out of stock). Voice Caddie's Australian store listed the SC4 Pro at A$999, marked "Back Soon".

We did not verify the SC4 range's full metric list, technology or subscription options for this guide, so we are not going to describe them from memory. 4. Rapsodo MLM: best under $500

Price: A$299.95 on Rapsodo's Australian store (RRP A$399.95).

The original MLM uses your iPhone's camera, with swing replay and a shot trace, and is iPhone and iPad only. It has its own cheaper Premium plan. It is a sensible way to start if budget is tight, but if you can stretch to the MLM2 Pro, the jump in hardware (its own cameras, measured spin with RPT balls, club data, Android support) is significant.

Just over $1000: worth knowing about

• Square Golf Home Edition: A$1,199.99 at Bayside Golf. Sits beside the ball, uses a high-speed camera, and has no subscription (1,000 free credits included).
• FlightScope Mevo Gen2: A$2,199 at The Net Return. No recurring fees.
